Pro-Tips for a Stress-Free Cake Smash Session
Having captured countless milestones for families across Brantford, Paris, Cambridge, and Hamilton, I’ve learned a few tricks to ensure a successful session:
Avoid Red Icing: It sounds minor, but bright red dye can look a little... gory when smeared across a baby's face and hands, and it easily stains fair skin. Stick to soft pastels, buttercream whites, or natural tones.
The Yogurt Hack: If your baby hasn’t had much sugar yet, a heavy dose of sweet frosting can overwhelm them. You can request (or bake) a cake frosted with whipped cream or Greek yogurt mixed with a bit of maple syrup. It looks just as fluffy but is much friendlier on tiny tummies.

We bring out a miniature, vintage-style claw foot tub filled with warm water and bubbles. It allows us to capture those adorable, splashy bath-time smiles while simultaneously cleaning your little one up before you head home.
